Last month the maiden edition of Doyen’s Industry Night was launched at the Bexley Heath Marriott Hotel.
Aptly titled “Unveiling the Face Behind the Mask”, the evening was heavily supported by members of the African community, including those from the media and entertainment sector.
The sold-out event helped demystify the topic of depression and its significant prevalence within the community, while providing a spectacular night of entertainment.
Guest speakers bravely shared their personal experiences, raising awareness on the sensitive topic through a Q and A session.
Doyen Ola clearly delivered on her promise of a night full of luxury and glamour and sponsors of the event included Wave Money transfer and Yanga TV, who were also present to show their support.
The banqueting suite was beautifully decorated and each table boasted a huge selection of premium drinks that lasted beyond the evening, perfectly complimenting the tasty African cuisine that was served.
MC Posh effortlessly anchored the event and entertained the audience from start to finish with his activities to get people up and out of their seats. DJ Jaidoo provided the music and coordinated the live performances from celebrity artistes including V.E.R.A Tunes, Joyful Praise, Stainless D and Kas Beats.
Some notable attendees included CANUK Chairman Dr Boma Douglas, NDDIS Chairman Chief Bimbo Afolayan and Cllr Susan Fajana – Thomas.
Following the success of Doyin’s Industry night it is set for a return in 2020.
The inaugural event took place on Friday June 7 2019
